I haven’t done much PHP OOP. I have started focusing more on this recently. LornaJane.net gives a great high level tutorial on this.

I just got a raspberry pi today to test a budget alternative to displaying dynamic dashboard metrics on monitors for work. The raspberry pi is the perfect tool for this. Its $35. There is nothing to lose. In the past I have used Intel’s NUC, but it was a lot of wasted compute power just to display some metrics.
To start off, I installed raspbian which is the debian flavor of linux suggested by Raspberry Pi themselves. This can be downloaded on their website.
Once that was installed, there are 3 things we need to do:
sudo vi /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf # add the following lines to the [SeatDefaults] section # don't sleep the screen xserver-command=X -s 0 dpms
sudo vi /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart # comment everything and add the following lines @xset s off @xset -dpms @xset s noblank @midori -e Fullscreen -a http://plone.org
sudo apt-get install unclutter
